Student arrested after toilet bowl bomb explodes at San Pasqual school

ESCONDIDO (KUSI) — A student-made toilet bowl bomb exploded at a school in Escondido Thursday, leaving a 15-year-old under arrest.

A teacher found a student creating what was believed to be a toilet-cleaner bomb in the bathroom at San Pasqual Valley Academy in Escondido around 9 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

The teacher caught the student, retrieved the bomb and threw it in a bush outside where it exploded, the Sheriff’s dept. said.

San Diego sheriff’s and Cal Fire responded to the scene. No injuries were reported but the 15-year-old student was arrested, the Sheriff’s dept. said.
