Student released from juvenile hall prompts Oceanside School Dist. meetings

OCEANSIDE (KUSI) — A former El Camino High School student who was arrested for making threats was released from juvenile hall and the Oceanside School District wants to make sure parents are informed.

A fourth public meeting to inform parents about the student’s release is expected to be held at 6 p.m. at Oceanside High School’s multi-purpose room. Meetings have been held every day this week.

The district encouraged parents to attend on their website:

“The safety of our students and staff is always the Oceanside Unified School District’s primary concern. OUSD is holding informational meetings regarding an individual who has been released from law enforcement custody. You are encouraged to attend one of these scheduled meetings,”

The Oceanside School District currently has a restraining order that prevents the student from coming within 100 feet within any district campuses and has increased security on campuses.
