Successful Baja California tourism

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – In the fall of 2018, Baja California was coming off of two of its most successful years of tourism to date according to Secretary of Tourism Oscar Escobedo.

Escobedo said the success is fueled by a booming wine region in Valle de Guadalupe, a surging micro-brewery scene in Tijuana and major hotel and restaurant openings from Ensenada to San Felipe and Mexicali.

US travel writers with Valle de Guadalupe highlighted by Conde Nast Traveler as 2019’s next great food scene. Meanwhile,  San Felipe heralded by the LA Times as Baja’s best laid-back beach town.

In 2018, more than 27.5 million people visited Baja California, according to Escobedo.
