Supermarket bank robbed in Rolando

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man with a goatee used a demand note to rob a supermarket banking center in the Rolando area Friday afternoon, authorities reported.

The bandit handed the written message to a teller at the U.S Bank desk at the Vons store in the 6100 block of El Cajon Boulevard about 1:45 p.m., according to San Diego police. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The thief was described as a stocky man in his early to mid-30s, wearing a white-and-gray T-shirt, a black baseball cap and reading glasses, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said.
