Supervisor Fletcher hosts public forum to discuss the county’s budgeting process

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher will host a public forum today to discuss the county’s budgeting process and how constituents can weigh in on that process.

The meeting is the first of two Fletcher will hold in advance of the board’s budgeting process, which is scheduled to begin in June.

Staff members from county departments like the Health and Human Services Agency and the Public Safety Group are expected to attend the event to assist Fletcher in describing how the budgeting process affects all of the county’s abilities for a full year.

“By bringing the department leaders into the neighborhoods to discuss the budget, it makes county government more accessible for working families,” Fletcher said. “These forums are the run-up to the evening budget hearing in June and by providing information ahead of time, residents will be able to maximize their time before the entire Board of Supervisors.”

The forum is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Copley-Price Family YMCA Gymnasium at 4300 El Cajon Blvd. Fletcher’s office will provide materials in Spanish, Somali and Vietnamese at the event.
