Supervisor Jim Desmond leads successful effort to recruit more Sheriff’s Deputies

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is experience a shortage of deputies, and Republican County Supervisor Jim Desmond has lead the effort to change that.

Desmond recently sent a letter to the Board of Supervisors calling for incentives for those who apply to become a San Diego County Sheriff’s Deputy.

Jim Desmond says these first responders put their lives on the line and should be compensated well for their bravery.

The Board of Supervisors approved the measure on Tuesday.
