Supervisor Jim Desmond pushes for youth sports in California

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond and area football players and coaches will hold a “Let Them Play” rally calling on Gov. Gavin Newsom to allow children to play youth sports while the COVID-19 pandemic continues at Torrey Pines High School Friday morning.

Desmond joined Good Morning San Diego to discuss the rally and the effort to put pressure on state officials.

The supervisor said, “These coaches are more that just coaches trying to win a game they are mentors. Right now not being able to play sports trying to get into college and university it’s difficult out there.”
