Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure San Diego

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure San Diego 5K is scheduled for Sunday Morning at Balboa Park.

Around 15,000 people are expected to participate in the event, which funds breast cancer programs that provide mammograms, biopsies, temporary financial aid, meal delivery and other forms of help for women.

The course for the 8 a.m. event begins and ends on the west side of Balboa Park at Palm Avenue.

Participants are encouraged to find street parking along First, Second, Third and Fourth avenues, or use pay lots in the area. Parking is also available in the lot of the old Navy Hospital on the opposite side of Balboa Park, with shuttle service running every 15 minutes beginning at 6 a.m.
