SWAT standoff in North Park Saturday
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A SWAT standoff occurred in North Park Saturday when a man armed with a hatchet, propane tank and lighter held San Diego police at bay for more than seven hours.
The incident began at 11:05 a.m. at a home in the 3300 block of 30th Street, said San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.
The man told SWAT officers he would burn the house down, Heims said. He did not have hostages and there were no injuries.
The man gave himself up peacefully to officers at 6:38 p.m. Heims said.
