Rancho Bernardo SWAT standoff ends with one person in custody, no injuries
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – San Diego Police were able to bring an hours long standoff to a peaceful conclusion, taking one man into custody.
Authorities tell us they were called to the 17000 block of Robinia Court around 8:30 am, after receiving a 911 call where a woman said her boyfriend had locked himself inside the garage and was firing rounds of ammunition.
“We met the family outside, while speaking with the family we heard additional gun shots inside the house,” said Captain Mike Holden with the San Diego Police Department.
SWAT teams were called in to evacuate 10 homes nearby and a shelter-in-place order went into effect.
Ultimately police fired tear gas into the garage and were able to bring the man into custody.
No injuries were reported and the San Diego Police Department will be investigating this incident.
