Sweepstakes Scams, Heads Up!

Monday, February 25, 2013 – A wise elderly woman called KUSI's Michael Turko when she uncovered another nasty scam. Turko says con-artists are calling people on the phone to arrange the delivery of bogus sweepstakes prizes. Remember, the scammers are piggybacking on all kinds of sweepstakes and giveaways not just Publishers Clearinghouse. Experts say you never have to pay money up front to claim any prize from any legitimate organization. They notify winners by mail, never on the phone.
