Target stores nationwide experience temporary system failures

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Customers had to wait in long lines at Target today after systems temporarily went down prohibiting people from making purchases the day before Father’s Day.

The chain temporarily closed some of its stores as it worked to fix the problem and later took to twitter to confirm that its systems were up and running again in all the stores.

After experiencing a data heist in 2013 that resulted in the breach of millions of customers’ accounts, the chain confirmed that the issue was an “internal technology issue” and not “a data breach or security-related issue.”
