Tax expert Richard Rider: San Diego Democrats to empty city treasury

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Mayor Todd Gloria t released his proposed Fiscal Year 2024 $5.12 billion budget last week, focused on improving infrastructure as well as new expenditures regarding homelessness, street paving and public safety.

Gloria’s “Getting It Done” budget is an increase of $120 million over 2022’s “Ready to Rebuild” budget. Chairman Richard Rider of the San Diego Tax Fighters believes that, because the city’s population has stopped growing, the consistent increases in yearly budget spending will eventually empty the city coffers.

Ride joined KUSI’s Paul Rudy to discuss his views on Gloria’s budget proposal.
