Taxi driver beaten, robbed in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE (CNS) – Three people who allegedly lured a taxi driver to an Oceanside address, where he was beaten with a metal bar and robbed of $50 were arrested Thursday, police said.
Dash Walters, 29, Kevin Moore, 32, and Jenna Gamble, 28, were booked on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, according to Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby.
The robbery in the 4900 block of Concho Place was reported at 1:15 a.m., Cosby said in a statement.
The victim called police and said an acquaintance — later identified as Gamble — called him for a ride to a Concho Place residence and once there, two men came outside and hit him about the head and body with a piece of rebar and an unknown weapon. Cosby said the victim suffered a cut to his head and marks to his body as a result of the assault, during which he also was robbed of $50.
The suspects were arrested shortly afterward, he said, adding that Walters was caught trying to climb out of a bedroom window.
