Teamsters, First Transit reach tentative agreement, resume NCTD bus schedules

OCEANSIDE (KUSI) — North County Transit District buses were back on schedule Thursday afternoon, thanks to a tentative agreement with drivers.

First Transit officials said the tentative agreement with the Teamsters Local 542 of San Diego means passengers of the North County Transit District, LIFT paratransit, FLEX, and BREEZE will have continuous, uninterrupted service.

Union members are scheduled to vote on the tentative agreement next week.

"First Transit and the Teamsters Local 542 worked through the night to reach this tentative agreement," said Mark Weinstein, area vice president of First Transit. "We look forward to the results of the ratification vote next week."
