Teen arrested in connection to Vista skateboard stabbing
SAN MARCOS (CNS) – A 17-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of stabbing an acquaintance in a tug-of-war over a skateboard and a girl, sheriff’s deputies said.
The aggressor, whose name was withheld because he is a juvenile, allegedly stopped a 16-year-old boy in the 300 block of West East Drive in Vista on Sunday evening and demanded his skateboard. When the younger boy resisted, he was stabbed, deputies said.
“Further investigation revealed the suspect also confronted the victim over the victim becoming friends with the suspect’s ex-girlfriend,” sheriff’s Sgt. Tom Ness said.
The suspect was booked into juvenile hall on suspicion of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
