Teen severely injured in Oceanside rollover accident
OCEANSIDE (CNS) – A teenager was being treated Monday for severe injures suffered in a two-vehicle collision at an Oceanside intersection, police said.
A 2001 Ford Expedition, in which the teen was a passenger, was headed south on College Boulevard around 4:45 p.m. Sunday and struck a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu that had turned into its path at the intersection with Oceanside Boulevard, Oceanside police Sgt. Ignacio Lopez said.
The collision caused the SUV to overturn and come to a rest on southbound Oceanside Boulevard, Lopez said.
The teen — authorities did not immediately say if the victim is a a boy or a girl — suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, Lopez said. Both drivers were treated for complaints of pain, according to the sergeant.
Lopez said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Anyone with information about the collision was asked to call (760) 435-4882.
