Teen shot in Fairmont Village

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A 17-year-old male suffered a non-life-threatening wound Saturday in a shooting inside a car in the Fairmont Village section of San Diego, police said.

The victim got into a white Chevrolet Impala just before 5 p.m. in a McDonald’s parking lot at the intersection of Fairmont Avenue and Wightman Street, according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

“While he was in the car he was shot in the buttocks,” Heims said, adding that the vehicle then drove off with the victim still inside.

At an intersection, the teen heard another gunshot but he was not struck, according to Heims.

“The victim was able to get out of the car at that time,” he said.

The 17-year-old was taken to a hospital. He was uncooperative with investigators, Heims said.
