Teenager arrested in Golden Hill after barricading himself during SWAT standoff

GOLDEN HILL (KUSI) — A teenager is jailed Thursday after he barricaded himself inside a home in the Golden Hill area of San Diego south of Balboa Park and was taken into custody by a SWAT team.

San Diego Police officers were sent to a home in the 2900 block of E Street around 6 p.m. Wednesday for a juvenile who had an outstanding detention order. The 17-year-old boy barricaded himself in the home and a SWAT team was called to the scene, said Sgt. Edward Zwibel.

The juvenile was believed to have access to a weapon, Zwibel said.

The teenager surrendered to officers around 11 p.m.
