Teenager arrested on suspicion of robbing store in San Marcos
SAN MARCOS (CNS) – A teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a San Marcos market early Wednesday but two accomplices got away, authorities said.
La Fiesta Market at 343 Richmar Ave. was burglarized around 12:15 a.m., according to San Diego County sheriff’s Sgt. Hernan Gonzalez.
A witness called 911 and reported having just seen three males carry bags as they ran away from the business toward West Mission Road, he said in a statement.
Deputies found a blood trail in the same direction and followed it to the 400 block of Autumn Drive, where a juvenile male was spotted walking with a bag and gave chase shortly after 2 a.m., Gonzalez said, adding that the teen was arrested in the area of Mission Road and Richmar Avenue.
“(He) is an uncooperative juvenile who refused to provide information about himself,” the sergeant said. “The bag contained merchandise from the burglarized market and was stained with what appeared to be fresh blood. However, (he) did not have any injuries.”
