Teenager shot by suspect driving alongside vehicle in Mission Bay
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — The teenage passenger of a vehicle traveling on Mission Bay Dr. early Tuesday was wounded in a car-to-car in Mission Bay Park, police said.
Someone inside a teal Chrysler 300 sedan or a Dodge Charger fired a shot at the Honda Civic in which the 17-year-old victim and three others were riding on eastbound West Mission Bay Dr. near Ingraham St. around 1:30 a.m., San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The bullet tore through the Honda’s back door on the driver’s side and struck the teen in his hip. Delimitros said the victim’s wound was not considered life-threatening.
The suspect vehicle was last seen on the exit ramp from West Mission Bay Dr. to Sunset Cliffs Blvd., according to the officer.
