Temperatures reach their peak but morning fog remains

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — A warming trend that began Monday is expected to reach its peak for the week Thursday.

Along the coast, skies will be cloudy Thursday morning with a break in the afternoon before clouds return in the evening. The marine layer that is creating that morning fog will deepen Friday and is expected to stay.

Inland areas will experience high temperatures averaging in the 80s. Skies will be mostly clear and winds will be low. Mountains and deserts will see mostly clear skies with slight winds.

Thursday is expected to be the warmest day this week but Friday temperatures will remain just slightly above average. Over the weekend, temperatures are expected to be pleasant.

Thursday’s high temperatures are expected to be 70 degrees along the coast, 78 degrees inland, 73 in the mountains and 97 for the deserts.
