Ten-degree temperature drop in San Diego County as fall begins

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Fall starts Friday and it will feel like it in San Diego County, as temperatures drop about 10 degrees in some areas.

The low-pressure trough that has brought unseasonably cool weather to San Diego County will linger over the region Friday as fall gets set to begin just after 1 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to be well below average Friday and into the weekend, but expect drier and warmer days early next week.

Strong winds that prompted wind advisories Thursday are expected to die down a bit Friday. Winds ma still be gusty in the mountains and deserts but a National Weather Service wind advisory expired overnight.

High temperatures Thursday will be 72 to 77 degrees at the beaches and inland, 74 in the western valleys, 65 to 70 near the foothills, 59 to 67 in the mountains and 82 in the deserts.
