Ten displaced after Mira Mesa house fire

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Flames spread through a Mira Mesa home early Tuesday, causing extensive structural damage and leaving 10 residents in need of emergency lodging.

The blaze in the 10000 block of Zapata Avenue erupted for unknown reasons shortly before 5 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

It took crews about 40 minutes to fully extinguish the flames and hot spots, a dispatcher said.
