The Irene Ferguson Military Wife recognition awards highlights the strength and dedication of USMC wives

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation’s Irene Ferguson Marine Wife Recognition Award to honors and highlights the resiliency, strength, and dedication that USMC wife embodies as she supports our military men and women, families, and communities.

The Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation created the Irene Ferguson Military Wife award in memory of Irene Ferguson, wife of Major Glenn Ferguson (Retired), to recognize the trials and tribulations the service wife goes through while their husbands are fighting for our country.

To be nominated, you must be USMC wife who supports our military and communities, and the wife’s husband must be a USMC active duty member who serves in a unit having a home base located in the USMC Southwest Region.

The 2016 Irene Ferguson Marine Wife recognition award recipient, Lauren Huff, joined us on Good Morning San Diego to tell us more about the award and the nomination process.
