The lifesaving value of Automated External Defibrillators

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – When someone experiences cardiac arrest, the likelihood of survival is 70-80% greater when an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is available and immediately used to treat the victim.

For more than 100 years, the nonprofit and volunteer organization American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP),  has supported occupational safety and health professionals in their efforts to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities. ASSP provides education, advocacy, standards development and a professional community to its members in order to advance their careers and the profession as a whole.

ASSP Professional Development Conference is being held on March 10 at the Jacobs Center in Lemon Grove. The organization encourages anyone interested in learning more about AED technology and workplace safety and health in general to attend the event.
