The Lincoln Club of San Diego County is working to gather support for pro-business candidates
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Lincoln Club of San Diego County is a Political Action Committee that advocates for San Diego’s taxpayers, businesses, and residents who believe in lower taxes, less regulation, and a better quality of life.
The Lincoln Club was founded in the mid-80s by a group of San Diego business owners to support business minded politicians. To this day, their “mission is to advance free market principles and ideas by recruiting, endorsing, and financing business-friendly candidates and ballot measures that reflect our commitment to responsible public policy, the expansion of economic opportunity, and an enhanced quality of life throughout San Diego County.
On their website, Mayor Faulconer is quoted as saying, “The Lincoln Club is providing a voice for San Diego’s business community.”
The club hosts dozens of events throughout the year, many of which are open to prospective members and some are only open to their current members.
The Lincoln Club of San Diego County has already endorsed dozens of candidates and measures including Scott Sherman for Mayor, Kristin Gaspar for Supervisor District 3, Poway Mayor Steve Vaus for District 2, and Michelle Ialeggio for Superior Court Judge – Office No. 36.
