Triathletes hit the surf, pavement in SD Int’l Triathlon

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The annual San Diego International Triathlon took place, near downtown San Diego, Sunday morning.
    

The main course featured a 1,000-meter swim, 30K bicycle ride and 10K run. A sprint course consists of a 500-meter swim, 20K cycle ride and 6-mile run. The races, which raised money for Father Joe’s Villages, started in the water off Spanish Landing Park.
    

The bike rode out to Point Loma and back, with the shorter course turning around partway into the Navy complex at the end of Catalina Boulevard. The longer ride continued out to the Cabrillo National Monument.
    

The concluding runs went from Spanish Landing Park to Embarcadero Marina Park North.
