Thief threatens employees with pistol at Rancho Bernardo sandwich shop
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A thief dressed all in black threatened employees with a pistol Tuesday while robbing a Rancho Bernardo sandwich shop.
According to San Diego police, the bandit, who appeared to be in his 20s, entered Submarina in the 17000 block of Bernardo Center Drive shortly before 10:30 a.m., confronted workers and told them to give him cash.
When the man "didn’t get a quick response,” he pulled a handgun and waved it around while repeating his demand for money, Officer Dan Lasher said.
"The stunned employees backed away from the counter, and the (robber) grabbed the cash drawer and fled on foot,” Lasher said.
No injuries were reported.
