This flu season is hitting children and young adults particularly hard
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The number of flu cases reported in San Diego County is on the rise.
Influenza A cases are being reported more often, but it’s Influenza B that’s affecting younger people more severely. But while nationwide flu deaths among children are on the rise, the strain that seems to be so severe has not been reported in San Diego County.
The CDC is warning the public of a new strain of the virus affecting children this year especially hard, And while vaccinations and taking preventative steps are imperative, doctors say early detection and treatment is just as important.
