Three-alarm fire breaks out aboard USS Midway Museum

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – 7:45 a.m. – A three-alarm fire that broke out aboard the USS Midway Museum early Wednesday morning was extinguished with no reported injuries.

The blaze, which began around 5:30 a.m., was believed to have been sparked by welding near the flight deck.

According to Midway officials, the museum is planning to reopen at 10 a.m.

6:56 a.m. – Fire crews were working early Wednesday morning to put out a three-alarm fire that broke out aboard the USS Midway Museum.

The blaze started just after 5:30 a.m. beneath the flight deck.

No injuries were reported and all personnel were safely evacuated from the vessel.
