Mayor Faulconer provided an update on the Storage Connect Center

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Mayor Kevin Faulconer toured the Storage Connect Center, which opened in June, and discussed with the staff the operation of the storage facility. The 22,000 square-foot center, which is operated by Mental Health Systems, provides up to 500 lockable storage bins for use by homeless individuals.

Initially, it created a lot of angry neighborhood reaction well before it opened, but three months later Mayor Faulconer says the storage facility is working just as he said it would.

The Mayor emphasized- there’s been no negative impact on the community, including at a nearby school.

KUSI’s Ed Lenderman has the story.
