Tim Kaine to make first visit to San Diego since becoming democratic VP nominee

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Tim Kaine will make his first visit to San Diego since he became the Democratic nominee for vice president on August 20.

San Diego lawyer Jeffrey Krinsk and former state legislator Lynn Schenk have organized a fundraiser where Kaine, the U.S. senator from Virginia, is expected to appear. He will be in Los Angeles for a fundraiser that same day, according to Variety.

Guests will be asked to make contributions of $1,000 or $10,000, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The Clinton campaign hasn’t announced whether she plans to campaign in San Diego during the general election campaign. The former New York senator and first lady was last here on June 2, five days before the California primary, when she gave a speech in Balboa Park on national security.
