Town hall being held at Borrego Springs for placement of SVP Merle Wakefield
BORREGO SPRINGS (KUSI) – The Borrego Springs Chamber of Commerce is holding a town hall meeting Wednesday afternoon to address the proposed placement of sexually violent predator Merle Wakefield, giving residents a chance to share their concerns and get answers to stop the placement of this SVP.
KUSI’s Teresa Sardina joined viewers live from the De Anza Country club in Borrego Springs with more.
Clint Brandin, President of the Borrego Springs Chamber of Commerce, described the area as being a “dark sky community” where there really are no lights on at night, so much so that people may not be able to see who is in front of them at night.
Brandin added that 200 people were expected to attend the meeting.
