Trash Can Confiscation!

Thursday, November 20, 2011 – Some Rancho Bernardo residents tell KUSI's Michael Turko the city of San Diego is now confiscating their trash cans. Turko says the city's cutting off their trash service.  Residents thought the service was guaranteed by the people's ordinance of 1919.

Here's a case that shows what can happen when politicians start messing around with a law passed by the people. The original people's ordinance of 1919 is pretty straightforward, short, concise, and to the point. But now city officials say it's subject to interpretation… and guess what, their interpretation gets them off the hook!
