Tri-City Christian 50, Calvin Christian 30

September 19, 2014: This non-conference rivalry game was a battle of the ground impound between the Tri-City Christian Eagles (0-2) traveling to take on the Calvin Christian Crusaders (2-0). The Crusaders were looking to avenge last year’s loss to the Eagles and keep their undefeated season alive while the Eagles were looking for their first win of the season

The game started off with a 54 yard run by Danny Lovato that lead to a 2 yard touchdown run by Roger Moon, and the two-point conversion was good to make it 8-0 Crusaders. However, Alex Beck wouldn’t let that last for long as he ran in two touchdowns in the first quarter for the Eagles to bring the score to 14-8. The first half was a back and fourth ball game as Danny Lovato and Michael Senti each ran in touchdowns to make the score 24-14 (both touchdowns were followed by two-point conversions), before Joshua Edington scored a 1 yard touchdown run taking the Eagles into half down 24-22 to the Crusaders.

In the second half Tri-City Christian opened up the flood gates with multiple weapons on offense. Josh Edington would score his second touchdown of the game to start the second half to take the lead 30-24 over the Crusaders. Later in the second half Roman Gonzalez would bring the ball in for the score to widen the gap 38-24. A total of five different players would score for the Eagles tonight as they ran away with a final score of 50-30 over their rivals.
