Two Cal State San Marcos students arrested

SAN MARCOS – Two Cal State San Marcos students were arrested after an on-going investigation of an unaffiliated fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon and its CSUSM student members.

The on-going investigation which began in August, was initiated after reports of a sexual assault that occurred in May at an off-campus party hosted by the fraternity.

CSUSM had also received reports of criminal activities including, but not limited to, pervasive hazing, victim/witness intimidation, vandalism, providing illegal drugs and alcohol to minors, and use/sales of illegal drugs including marijuana, MDMA (mollies), LSD, cocaine, prescription narcotics and Xanax (bars).

During the search, investigators seized substantial amount of marijuana, cocaine, LSD, Ecstasy, illegal prescription drugs, steroids, and nearly $1,000 in cash.

Brandon Polonia, 21, and Corey Hobbs, 24, were the individuals arrested and transported to the Vista Detention Facility.
