Two CHP officers injured in National City while tending to accident

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — 1:40 p.m. — Two California Highway Patrol officers suffered minor injuries after a big rig rear-ended their patrol car on Interstate 805. The officers were in their car when it was struck by the trailer of the semi. Both officers were treated at the scene and taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for precautionary evaluations. 

No other injuries were reported from the crash. 

7:48 a.m. — Two California Highway Patrol officers were injured when their patrol car was rear-ended in National City while tending to another accident.

All lanes of the northbound Interstate-805 were shut down near E Street after a car ran-into the patrol car from behind, police said. The two CHP officers were inside the vehicle at the time and were transported to the hospital.
