Two firefighters injured in firetruck crash
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Two firefighters were injured after their firetruck drove off a dirt road and overturned near Paseo de la Fuente Tuesday morning.
The driver of the emergency vehicle was attempting to back it up along a narrow dirt road when one of the front wheels slipped over the edge of a slope.
According to SDFRD spokesman Lee Swanson, the two firefighters were conscious and alert following the crash.
An ambulance took them to a hospital. Their conditions were unclear but one of the men seemed to only suffer minor injuries, Swanson said.
The firefighters were from San Diego Fire Station 29 on West San Ysidro Boulevard.
