Two flights make emergency landings at Lindbergh Field

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Two separate flights safely landed at Lindbergh Field Tuesday after making precautionary landings at the bayside airport due to equipment trouble.

San Diego Fire-Rescue was at the San Diego airport just after 1 p.m. Tuesday while a Southwest Airlines flight headed from Las Vegas to San Diego made an emergency landing. The flight had reported a problem with a hydraulic system, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue, but landed safely.

A few hours prior, a Horizon Air passenger flight headed to Santa Rosa from Lindbergh field doubled back due to some sort of equipment trouble, according to an airport spokeswoman. The flight landed safely just before 11:30 a.m.
