Two motorcyclists injured in crash near Descanso

DESCANSO (CNS) – Two motorcyclists were severely injured Sunday in a collision with a pickup truck in Descanso.

The riders and the pickup crashed around 2 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 79 and Los Terrinetos Road, according to the California Highway Patrol and Cal Fire.

Both injured motorcyclists were airlifted to a hospital to be treated, Cal Fire Capt. Kendal Bortisser said. At least one rider sustained major injuries, according to the CHP.

The roadway was briefly closed in the area while the medical helicopter landed, the CHP said.
