Two suspects arrested in Egger Highlands mobile-home park shooting

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Two suspects were arrested Thursday in connection with a shooting that wounded four men, one fatally, at an Egger Highlands mobile-home park three months ago.

San Diego police and deputy U.S. marshals took Cesar Lopez, 23, and Karla Olmos, 22, into custody after serving a search warrant at an address in the Otay Mesa West area, Lt. Paul Rorrison said.

Lopez and Olmos allegedly took part in a firearm assault that killed Ismael Moreno Jr., 31, and injured three other men in the 600 block of Thermal Avenue about 9:45 p.m. June 27.

Witnesses reported hearing a group of people arguing prior to the gunfire and seeing a dark-colored compact car leaving the scene afterward.

Authorities have not disclosed any suspected motive for the shooting. It also was unclear if the suspects had any relationship with the victims.
