One dead, another wounded after Encanto shooting

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – 2:45 p.m. – One victim shot at the Encanto strip mall died from their injuries at Scripps Mercy Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

1:30 p.m. – Two were wounded Wednesday afternoon after a shooting at an Encanto strip mall.

According to San Diego police, witnesses reported hearing four gunshots shortly after 1:30 p.m. in the area of a trolley station on Atkins Avenue, near 62nd Street.

Responding patrol officers found the victims outside a pawnshop in the 6200 block of nearby Imperial Avenue, SDPD spokesman Mark Herring said. It was not immediately clear how severely they were wounded.
