UC San Diego students protest budget cuts and fee hikes

Thousands of students across California and the U.S. took part in a National Day of Action Thursday, for public education.

Here in San Diego students at UC San Diego rallied at the Geisel Library Thursday morning and marched through campus.

Students are angry about tuition hikes and budget shortfalls in the state's public education system. For many students their tuition bills are causing them to go deeper into debt.

Last year, the UC board of regents approved a 32 percent tuition hike.
