Unfounded bomb threat prompts lockdown at South Bay high school
CHULA VISTA (CNS) – An unfounded bomb threat prompted a 45-minute lockdown at Castle Park High School Tuesday, authorities reported.
Someone called the Hilltop Drive campus about 10:15 a.m. and claimed that there was some sort of explosive device there, according to police.
Teachers kept all students secured in their classrooms while officers searched the campus. They found no hazards and gave an all-clear just after 11 a.m., Lt. Mark Jones said.
“A criminal investigation is ongoing in hopes of locating the (person) who made the phone threats,” the lieutenant said.
