University City 12, Clairemont 7

Week 7 ended on an exciting note Clairemont high school. The University City Centurions went on the road to face the Chieftains yet another year. The rivalry resulted in the Centurions coming out on top; 12-7 University City.

The game started at exactly 6:30 PM. University City managed to score the first points of the night. Centurion quarterback, Nico Perez, passed a 35 yard touchdown to Jordan Tatro.

Later in the second, after a long drive, Clairemont’s RJ McCoy completes a 1 yard QB sneak to jump in the lead; 7-6 Clairemont. University City wasn’t going to let Clairemont get off that easy; arriving in the end zone later in the second. Jordan Tatro ran in the ball 21 yards for a touchdown; 12-7 Centurions.

The score would remain the same for the rest of the night. The tension and excitement grew in the last few minutes of the game. On their last possession, Clairemont was left with 52 seconds on the clock and no time-outs. University City was able to hold of the Chieftains until their last play. With the ball on the 35 and 7 seconds left, Chieftain RJ McCoy passed to Jordan Tatro. Tatro completed the classic hook and ladder to Alex Beaubien but were not able to score the game winning touchdown.
