USS Midway Foundation announces nearly $700,000 in grants to different organizations

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The USS Midway Foundation held a news conference to announce $696,000 in grants to local & national organizations serving veterans, active-duty personnel and their families, as well as first responders. More than 80-percent of the grants will be given to local organizations.

To support the USS Midway Museum and its foundation, actors Ed Skrein and Luke Kleintank, with director Roland Emmerich of Lionsgate’s new film, MIDWAY, were in attendance for the big announcement.

KUSI’s Hunter Sowards was live aboard the USS Midway on Good Morning San Diego as they announced the donations. Plus, she spoke with the director and actors about the amazing work that they put into the film.
