Valley Center man dies in bee attack

VALLEY CENTER (CNS) – A 67-year-old man died at his rural Valley Center
home Thursday after being attacked by bees, authorities reported.

The Montanya Drive resident was working on the grounds of his property
when the insects swarmed him shortly before 2 p.m., according to sheriff's
officials.

The man, whose name was not immediately available, died at the scene,
despite medics' lifesaving attempts, Lt. Dave Schaller said.

The county Medical Examiner's Office was called in to take custody of
the body for autopsy purposes.
