VALLEY CENTER: Missing woman found hours after crashed car discovered

(CNS) – Search-and-rescue personnel found a Del Mar woman
Thursday in a North County ravine near where her crashed and abandoned car had
been discovered hours earlier.

Sheriff's volunteers and members of San Diego Mountain Rescue located
Elizabeth Allen, 50, off Lake Wohlford Road in Valley Center about 3 p.m.,
authorities said. Medics treated her at the scene before taking her to a
hospital for further care and evaluation. Her condition was not released.

Allen's husband had reported her missing shortly after 11 a.m., upon
learning that her unoccupied vehicle had been found, according to sheriff's
officials. He had last spoken to her the previous morning by phone, during an
outing she made to Valley View Casino.

It was unclear how the woman might have wound up stranded in the rural
area, though sheriff's officials said she has a “medical condition.” They
declined to elaborate.
