Suspect arrested in Hotel Circle vandalism spree

SAN DIEGO — At least seven cars parked at three Mission Valley hotels were damaged Thursday during an early morning vandalism spree, police said.

Police were called to the Hotel Circle area at about 2 a.m. after a motel clerk reported that a man in his late 20s was throwing rocks through the windows of cars parked in the motel lot.

When police arrived, they located a suspect.

“The suspect appeared to be probably under the influence of some type of controlled substance,” said San Diego police Lt. Paul Rorrison. “He fought with the officers. No officer was hurt. The suspect sustained just minor scratches and abrasions.”
